Abstract

Belt conveyor is one of the main components in the material transportation process in the coal mining industry. Damage to the belt conveyor can cause significant production disruptions and result in financial losses for the company. This study aims to evaluate the belt conveyor maintenance and care system in the CPP 1 area of PT.KPC. Direct observation methods are carried out to identify the types and causes of damage that most commonly occur to belt conveyors. In addition, historical data on maintenance and component replacement from the maintenance system are also analyzed to understand the pattern of damage that occurs periodically. The results of the analysis show that roller wear, excessive friction, and drive component failure are some of the main problems that often occur. The implications of these findings will provide valuable insights for the company's maintenance management to improve the efficiency and reliability of belt conveyor operations in the CPP 1 area. This study makes an important contribution to efforts to improve the performance of material transportation systems in the coal mining industry.
