Abstract
Indonesia is located between three major tectonic plates: the Eurasian, Indo-Australian, and Pacific plates, resulting in a high potential for earthquakes in various regions, including West Java. One significant earthquake source in this area is the Lembang Fault, which can generate earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 6.5 to 7. This threat has the potential to damage infrastructure, especially supporting buildings such as parking structures, which commonly use steel structures. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of upper structural reinforcement methods against Lembang Fault earthquakes in the XYZ Parking Building project in Bandung. The research method involves analyzing the existing building structure based on SNI 1726:2019, focusing on the comparison of two reinforcement methods: XBracing and V-Bracing. The evaluation is conducted by measuring inter-story drift as an indicator of structural performance against seismic loads. The analysis results show that reinforcement using V-Bracing is proven to be more effective compared to X-Bracing. This is evident from the inter-story drift value in the Y-direction on the 5th floor, where V-Bracing results in a drift of 0.0070 mm, smaller than X-Bracing, which reaches 0.0100 mm.
