Abstract

Waste is one of the global problems that must be considered, because basically every human activity must produce waste. The fulfillment of human needs and an increase in human consumption will be proportional to the generation of waste. According to Government Regulation Number 81 of 2012, waste processing sites with the 3R principle, hereinafter referred to as TPS 3R, are places where area-scale collection, sorting, reuse, and recycling activities are carried out. The total amount of waste in Indonesia in 2023 will reach around 18 million tons with a population of 278 million people. From 2022 to 2023, the trend of Indonesia's population addition continues to increase with an average population growth rate of 1.076%. Bogor is one of the buffer cities that many people choose as a place to live. The development of the city will be followed by an increase in the number of residents and an increase in the generation of waste produced. There is a waste management facility located in Ciparigi Village, namely TPS 3R Ciparigi 2. In 2023, the waste that enters TPS 3R Ciparigi 2 is 363.91 tons/year and can be managed as much as 211.70 tons/year (58.17%). The purpose of this study is to identify the amount and composition of waste, waste management activities, the potential for waste reduction at TPS 3R Ciparigi 2 in reducing waste to the Galuga Landfill Bogor and provide recommendations related to efforts to improve waste management at TPS 3R Ciparigi 2. The data analysis method used was the load count analysis method for 8 consecutive days. Based on the results of research conducted in the period October 2024 – December 2024, the results of measuring the average daily waste generation managed at TPS 3R Ciparigi 2 with the number of services for 695 households, namely 0.400 kg/person/day. Based on the calculation of waste reduction using the RF method, it was obtained that the waste reduction at TPS 3R Ciparigi 2 in 2024 was 58.7%. When compared to 2023, it is 58.17%. Waste reduction in 2024 is concluded not to increase significantly compared to 2023 with an increase of 0.53%. There are several obstacles faced by TPS 3R Ciparigi 2, The improvement efforts that have been made are the rebranding of TP3R by providing uniforms of shirts, t-shirts, and raincoats with logos, granting garbage cart equipment grants and providing zinc fences as highway barriers with TPS 3R.
