Abstract
Utility buildings are essential structural components designed to support the activities of occupants, ensuring their comfort and safety. The structural design of utility buildings in low-cost apartments, which serve as supporting elements in vertical housing developments, must consider both static and dynamic loads—especially in regions with seismic potential such as East Kalimantan Province. This study aims to analyze the performance of reinforced concrete structures in utility buildings of low-cost apartments under static (dead and live loads) and dynamic (earthquake) loading. The analysis was conducted using the finite element method with the assistance of structural analysis software. The structural model was developed based on Indonesian design standards SNI 2847:2019 for concrete structures and SNI 1726:2019 for seismic loading. The analysis results show that the structure is capable of withstanding static loads with deformations and stresses remaining within safe limits. Under dynamic loading, the structural response exhibits inter-story drifts that comply with the tolerance limits set by the standards, with the Special Moment Resisting Frame (SMRF) system playing a significant role in absorbing seismic forces. Therefore, the reinforced concrete structure of the utility building in the low-cost apartment complex is considered technically feasible to withstand both static and dynamic loads in the East Kalimantan region. Recommendations are proposed to improve the detailing of structural elements in order to enhance seismic performance.
