Abstract

The high risk of accidents and occupational diseases in industrial operations requires companies to implement a structured and sustainable occupational safety and health management system. The Indonesian government has established Government Regulation Number 50 of 2012 concerning the Implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) as a guideline for companies in controlling the risk of hazards in the workplace. PT Agri Indomas - Palembang as a company engaged in the agribusiness sector has potential occupational hazards that require control through the implementation of an effective SMK3. Therefore, an evaluation is needed to determine the extent to which the level of conformity of the SMK3 implementation in the company with applicable provisions. This study aims to evaluate the level of conformity of the SMK3 implementation at PT Agri Indomas - Palembang based on PP No. 50 of 2012 and identify obstacles in its implementation. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with an evaluative approach. The assessment was carried out on 166 SMK3 criteria as listed in Appendix II of PP No. 50 of 2012. Data collection was carried out through document examination, field observation, and filling out the SMK3 internal audit checklist. The data obtained were analyzed by comparing the actual conditions of SMK3 implementation in the company with the applicable regulatory requirements, then calculating the level of achievement. The results of the study indicate that the level of compliance with SMK3 implementation at PT Agri Indomas - Palembang reached 89.16%, which is included in the good category. However, several discrepancies were still found, especially in aspects of consistency of implementation in the field, completeness of supporting documentation, and optimization of the role of internal audit. Therefore, improvement efforts are needed through increasing the competence of internal auditors, strengthening the documentation system, and continuous monitoring and evaluation of SMK3. The results of this study are expected to be a basis for companies in increasing the effectiveness of SMK3 implementation in a sustainable manner.
