Abstract
This study compares protective Bored Pile and Corrugated Concrete Sheet Pile (CCSP) as slope protection systems at STA 55+000 of the Serang–Panimbang Toll Road Project Section 3A. The study aims to evaluate both methods based on slope stability, construction cost estimation, and carbon footprint. The analysis was conducted using the finite element method with PLAXIS 2D software based on Standard Penetration Test (SPT) data. The analyzed parameters include Safety Factor (SF), Maximum Total Displacement, material cost estimation, and carbon footprint using the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach. The results show that the protective Bored Pile has a slightly higher Safety Factor of 2.017, compared to 2.016 for the concrete sheet pile. The Maximum Total Displacement of the Bored Pile is 8.74 cm, which is lower than the 9.04 cm obtained for the concrete sheet pile. In terms of economic and environmental aspects, the concrete sheet pile performs better, with an estimated material cost of IDR 260,468,235 and a carbon footprint of 11.752 tonCO₂-e, lower than the Bored Pile, which has a material cost of IDR 377,311,941 and a carbon footprint of 45.38 tonCO₂-e. Overall, the Corrugated Concrete Sheet Pile (CCSP) is recommended as a more optimal alternative because it provides nearly equivalent stability to the Bored Pile while offering lower material costs and a lower carbon footprint.
