Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana kerjasama dalam bidang industri pertahanan yang dijalankan oleh Indonesia dengan Uni Emirat Arab terkait joint production pada sebuah senjata buatan Uni Emirat Arab, yaitu Senjata CAR816. Penelitian ini turut menjelaskan bagaimana kerjasama ini digunakan sebagai implementasi dari ambisi Indonesia dalam melakukan kemandirian pada industri pertahanan nasional. Joint production yang dilakukan kedua negara tersebut digunakan Indonesia dalam memperoleh pengetahuan mengenai teknologi yang terdapat pada senjata canggih. CAR816 merupakan salah satu senjata dengan teknologi maju yang ada di dunia, dengan mengadopsi dari Senjata M16 dan M4 asal Amerika Serikat. Metode kualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis terkait kerjasama ini yang didukung dengan data primer serta sekunder yang diperoleh. Penyerapan ilmu terkait teknologi canggih yang dimiliki senjata CAR816 ini dapat membuat Indonesia melakukan pengembangan terhadap teknologi persenjataan milik sendiri. Kerjasama ini membuka gerbang kerjasama dalam bidang lain antara Indonesia dengan Uni Emirat Arab yang akan menguntungkan secara ekonomi maupun geopolitik. Kata kunci: Kerjasama Pertahanan, Senjata CAR816, Joint Production ABSTRACT This research aims to see how the cooperation in the defense industry carried out by Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates is related to the joint production of a weapon made in the United Arab Emirates, namely the CAR816 weapon. This research also explains how this collaboration is used as an implementation of Indonesia's ambition to achieve independence in the national defense industry. The joint production carried out by the two countries is used by Indonesia to gain knowledge about the technology contained in advanced weapons. CAR816 is one of the weapons with advanced technology in the world, adopted from the M16 and M4 weapons from the United States. Qualitative methods are used to analyze this collaboration which is supported by primary and secondary data obtained. The absorption of knowledge related to the advanced technology possessed by the CAR816 weapon can enable Indonesia to develop its own weapons technology. This collaboration opens the gates for cooperation in other fields between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates which will be economically and geopolitically beneficial.
