Abstract
This research discusses the implementation of a CNC Router workflow for converting 2D images into 3D toolpaths in the Industrial Engineering Laboratory of Bakrie University. The study is motivated by the need for a practical, cost-effective, and simple solution to support educational and prototyping activities within academic environments with limited resources. The methodology includes job setup, conversion of 2D images into 3D models using Vectric Aspire, toolpath creation (profiling, roughing, and finishing), saving G-code, and transferring it to Candle software for execution on a CNC 3018 machine. The results indicate that appropriate cutting parameters (pass depth, stepover, feed rate, spindle speed, and plunge rate) significantly affect machining efficiency and output precision. The developed workflow proved to be simple, reliable, and applicable in laboratory settings, serving as a reference for further CNC learning and 2D image-based CAM automation development.
