Abstract

PT FGH faces challenges in managing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventory, particularly frequent occurrences of stockouts and overstocks that disrupt operational continuity. Despite implementing a Min-Max inventory control system, discrepancies remain between actual stock levels and operational requirements. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of the current inventory control mechanism by applying the Min-Max Inventory Control method, supplemented with a 30% Safety Stock calculation based on the average usage rate. The research utilizes actual PPE consumption data from the past five years (2019–2024) and avoids forecasting models in favor of a historical usage-based approach. This method determines the optimal minimum, maximum, and safety stock levels for each PPE item. The analysis indicates that the Min-Max method, when integrated with safety stock, can effectively support availability however, supplier delays represent a significant external constraint affecting inventory performance. This research recommends periodic adjustments to Min, Max, and safety stock thresholds, including a flexible replenishment plan to mitigate the impact of supplier delays and demand variability.
