Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the safety level of railway track geometry at Curve No. 24, KM 5+565–KM 5+767, Line 2 Track 2 of the Jabodebek LRT based on the Level of Safety (LOS) method and to develop maintenance recommendations based on the evaluation results. The geometric parameters analyzed include versine (AP), rail cant, and gauge widening. The research data consist of design geometry data and field measurement data obtained using a Track Geometry Trolley (TGT) on June 12, 2026, which were compared to determine the deviation at each observation point. The design geometry was calculated based on a curve radius of 111 m, while the LOS evaluation was conducted based on the tolerance limits specified in the Decree of the Director General of Railways Number KP-DJKA 223 of 2024. The calculation results show a maximum design versine of 112 mm, a maximum rail cant of 70 mm, and a maximum gauge widening of 10 mm. These design values are gradually distributed along the transition curves and maintained constantly along the circular curve. The TGT measurement results indicate deviations from the design values; however, all deviations remain within the specified tolerance limits. The LOS evaluation results show that all observation points for the versine, rail cant, and gauge widening parameters are classified as LOS I. The speed analysis shows a design speed of 35 km/h, an operational speed of 28 km/h, and an actual measured speed of 22.004 km/h. The lower actual speed compared with the design and operational speeds represents the operating condition during the measurement and is supported by the CBTC system with Grade of Automation (GoA) Level 3, which enables automatic speed regulation according to operating conditions. Considering the curve geometry and actual speed, the curve condition remains acceptable from a safety perspective based on the analyzed parameters. The recommended maintenance consists of periodic track geometry inspection and monitoring, supported by preventive maintenance to maintain the geometric condition within the specified tolerance limits.
