Abstract

Taiwan carries out gastrodiplomacy through its superior product in the form of Bubble Tea, Taiwan carries out gastrodiplomacy by utilizing its soft power to increase attractiveness and cultural influence so as to increase interaction and relations. The role of the Taiwanese government in carrying out gastrodiplomacy is also by including Bubble Tea in Taiwan's "All in Good Taste Savor the Flavors of Taiwan" campaign which makes bubble tea as a gastrodiplomacy tool in Indonesia with the opening of bubble tea outlets. Gastrodiplomacy is one of the Taiwanese government's efforts to promote its nation branding in a different way that is more easily accepted by the foreign public, namely through boba tea drinks. The status of Taiwan has been a very complicated issue in both international law and international relations for decades due to the One China Policy. This policy has limited Taiwan's diplomatic activities and relations, so more flexible diplomacy is needed. Through gastrodiplomacy, boba tea is not only effective in enhancing Taiwan's credibility but also forming a positive image for its nation internationally. Taiwan pays great attention to economic relations and cultural exchanges without formal diplomatic ties. Taiwan's main goal is to gain recognition that Taiwan is a country of its own that is not part of any other country. One alternative strategy is to optimize its culinary potential through gastrodiplomacy, namely with bubble tea drinks that are currently popular and able to increase Taiwan's competitive identity in the international eye, especially Indonesia. The gastrodiplomacy strategy is able to create opportunities and economic improvement for Taiwan both in terms of economic investment and open up other economic cooperation opportunities in Indonesia. Key Words: Gastrodiplomacy, Diplomacy, Competitive Identity Taiwan melakukan gastrodiplomasi melalui produk unggulannya berupa Bubble Tea, Taiwan melakukan gastrodiplomasi dengan memanfaatkan soft power-nya untuk meningkatkan daya tarik dan pengaruh budaya sehingga dapat meningkatkan interaksi dan hubungan. Peran pemerintah Taiwan dalam melakukan gastrodiplomasi juga dengan memasukkan Bubble Tea dalam kampanye Taiwan "All in Good Taste Savor the Flavors of Taiwan" yang menjadikan bubble tea sebagai alat gastrodiplomasi di Indonesia dengan dibukanya gerai bubble tea. Gastrodiplomasi merupakan salah satu upaya pemerintah Taiwan untuk mempromosikan nation branding-nya dengan cara yang berbeda sehingga lebih mudah diterima oleh masyarakat asing, yaitu melalui minuman boba tea. Status Taiwan telah menjadi masalah yang sangat rumit baik dalam hukum internasional maupun hubungan internasional selama beberapa dekade karena Kebijakan Satu China. . Kebijakan ini telah membatasi kegiatan dan hubungan diplomatik Taiwan, sehingga diperlukan diplomasi yang lebih fleksibel. Melalui gastrodiplomasi, teh boba tidak hanya efektif dalam meningkatkan kredibilitas Taiwan, tetapi juga membentuk citra positif bagi bangsanya di dunia internasional. Taiwan menaruh perhatian besar pada hubungan ekonomi dan pertukaran budaya tanpa ikatan diplomatik formal. Tujuan utama Taiwan adalah untuk mendapatkan pengakuan bahwa Taiwan adalah negaranya sendiri yang bukan bagian dari negara lain. Salah satu strategi alternatifnya adalah mengoptimalkan potensi kulinernya melalui gastrodiplomasi, yaitu dengan minuman bubble tea yang saat ini sedang populer dan mampu meningkatkan identitas kompetitif Taiwan di mata internasional, khususnya Indonesia. Strategi gastrodiplomasi tersebut mampu menciptakan peluang dan peningkatan ekonomi bagi Taiwan baik dari sisi investasi ekonomi maupun membuka peluang kerja sama ekonomi lainnya di Indonesia.
