Abstract
PT. XYZ is a company engaged in mining, especially coal mining. PEPS is one of the departments of the CPHD division, CPHD is one of the divisions of PT. XYZ. PEPS as a service engineering and project will pour the results of ideas into drawings as a reference to be built in the field. This study was conducted to reduce the percentage of defects in the drawing production process in the PEPS department. The most common defects in drawings include incompatibility of design results with existing ones, revisions that are always repeated, notations and drawing standards that are not appropriate and many other defects. These defects occur during the drawing making process so that the possibility of drawing defects is caused by errors in the drawing. To find solutions to the problems that occur in this final assignment, the six sigma philosophy will be used. In the six sigma philosophy there is a method used to solve problems, namely DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). The DMAIC method helps to find the root of the problem that occurs in the drawing making process. The tool used to find the root of the problem is seven tools. The results of the seven tools show the defects that occur to the deepest roots so that the main cause of the defect can be identified. The proposed improvements will later be determined using the 5W + 1H method. The proposed improvement design that is prioritized to be carried out is whether to make improvements to the SOP, whether to provide additional training to drafters, and or create special rules for drafters if there are violations of the regulations.
