Abstract
Climate change has become a serious issue in Indonesia, with significant increases in temperature and rainfall uncertainties since the 1960s. Indonesia has set a target of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 29% by 2030 through Presidential Regulation No. 98 of 2021, as part of the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) commitment. One important step in achieving this target is through an inventory of GHG emissions, which is mandatory for companies, including those operating internal combustion engines. This research was conducted at Pt X's Tin smelting production Unit, located in Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung Islands, as one of the largest tin producing regions in Indonesia. In 2022, PT X recorded emissions of 5,960 tons of CO2 (eq), but the domestic waste sector had not previously been counted in the company's emission inventory. Using the GAP Analysis method, this study aims to identify emission hot spots and propose a more comprehensive emission reduction program. The results showed that the emission hot spots were in the Refining Unit with emissions of 0.673 tons of CO2 (eq), while the lowest emissions were recorded in the generator unit of 0.00628 Gg CO2 (eq). The proposed emission reduction Program includes the substitution of fuel in the Refining Unit from coal to diesel, as well as a 4,600 m2 green open space (RTH) program planted with 128.8 Trembesi trees, which are capable of absorbing 10,052 kg of CO2 per tree per day. The implementation of this program is expected to support the achievement of Indonesia'S NDC target in 2030 Keywords: Tin smelting, emission inventory, greenhouse Gas (GHG), green open space (RTH)
