Abstract

Film as a means of communication. Through an image, audio, shot, scene, sequence and story in the film itself that are interrelated with each other. It becomes a whole story that is presented as one for the audience. The image of a nomad that he wants to convey in the film Jakarta vs Everybody 2021. With research using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, researchers found scenes that show symptoms of nomadic problems with a lack of expertise and insider connections, making it difficult to find a decent job in the big city of Jakarta. The film directed by Ertanto Robby Soediskam wants to represent the life of the dark world of Jakarta, because many people want to pit their fate in Jakarta, the reality is far from the reality of the real city with rampant poverty, very real social inequality, and population density that has exceeded the capacity of regional placement. In addition, the issue of nomads represented in the Jakarta vs Everybody 2021 film, the director's main goal to the audience is how Dom wants to achieve his success in overseas areas with many obstacles and efforts that he makes, however, due to his lack of expertise and quick decision-making, he fails to achieve his dream (Francois, 2015).
