Abstract
The Parangtritis coastal area is a sand dune region located in Bantul Regency. The sand dunes were formed from the accumulation of volcanic eruption materials from Mount Merapi transported by the Opak River to the Indian Ocean. The area covers approximately 600 hectares, with an average elevation of 5 meters, and functions as a natural barrier against ocean waves reaching 3.5–4.0 meters. The tidal range reaches 2.3 meters at high tide and 0 meters at low tide. The southern coast of Java is located within a megathrust subduction zone with an earthquake potential of up to 8.8 Mw. Earthquakes exceeding 8.0 Mw may generate tsunami waves higher than 5 meters. This study aims to apply a LiDAR-based Digital Terrain Model (DTM) as elevation data for tsunami inundation modeling and for determining evacuation assembly points and routes. LiDAR point clouds were classified into ground and non-ground points to generate a DTM with a spatial resolution of 0.5 m. Accuracy assessment resulted in an RMSEz of 0.11298 m and an LE90 of 0.18584 m, while horizontal accuracy produced an RMSE of 0.230 m and a CE90 of 0.349 m. Tsunami inundation was modeled using the Berryman wave-height loss (Hloss) method with tsunami scenarios of 5, 10, and 15 m. The largest inundation area reached 613.367 ha under the 15 m scenario, while the 5 m scenario resulted in 366.059 ha. Spatial analysis identified seven horizontal evacuation shelters located in relatively safe areas based on elevation, open space availability, and proximity to road networks. Accessibility analysis used evacuation time scenarios of 5, 10, 17, and 22 minutes, assuming a walking speed of 1 m/s, to determine evacuation routes based on network connectivity and minimum travel distance. The results demonstrate that integrating LiDARderived DTM and GIS analysis supports tsunami inundation assessment and evacuation route planning in the Parangtritis coastal area.
