Abstract
PT X is a food manufacturing company that produces sandwich biscuits with cream filling and crackers. In 2022, PT X added a new production line (Line 6) to meet the increasing demand for exports and domestic consumption. As a step to improve the environmental management system and prevent environmental pollution, environmental aspect identification and environmental impact assessment are necessary in the Line 6 production area of PT X. The objective of this evaluative study is to identify environmental aspects, conduct an environmental impact assessment, and provide recommendations for environmental impact control in the Line 6 production area of PT X. The research method used is a qualitative research method. The data collection techniques used in preparing this evaluative study are literature studies in the form of company literature and documents, field observations, and interviews and discussions. Environmental aspect identification and environmental impact assessment of PT X use X Company Global Standards – E1 Standard – Environmental Aspects and Impacts. Based on the results of the identification of environmental aspects and environmental impact assessment, 157 environmental aspects have been identified in the Line 6 production area of PT X, consisting of 30 energy consumption, 4 natural resource consumption, 12 air emissions, 8 energy emissions, 2 wastewater discharges, 96 solid waste, wastewater, and by-products, and 5 leaks/spills. Based on the assessment results, there are 0 high environmental risks (significant environmental aspects), 30 medium environmental risks, 123 low environmental risks, and 4 positive environmental impacts. Environmental impact control for medium environmental risk activities that have solid waste, wastewater, and by-product aspects with soil pollution impacts can be achieved by implementing waste segregation, sending waste to community groups (PKK), engineering modifications with the addition of removable containers, early damage detection training for machinery, preventive maintenance training for machinery, and incentive programs.
