Abstract

This study aims to design a web-based warehouse information system prototype using the User Centered Design (UCD) approach to support inventory data management so that it becomes more structured and easier to manage. The current manual system lacks speed, accuracy, and data integration, which impacts operational processes and decision-making. The UCD method was selected because it emphasizes active user involvement in every stage of system design, starting from requirement identification, interface design, to design evaluation. The development process was carried out iteratively, beginning with the collection of user requirements through observation and interviews, followed by interface prototyping, and concluding with evaluation using cognitive walkthrough and usability testing methods. The evaluation results show that the designed prototype achieved a high level of usability, with an average usability score of 88.6 on the desktop version and 74.2 on the mobile version. Therefore, the proposed warehouse information system prototype can serve as an effective solution to support the digitalization of warehouse administrative and operational processes.
