Abstract
Project implementation is often faced with rework. Rework is defined as any type of physical work that is done more than once, carried out by the contractor at the implementation stage and or an activity that eliminates work that has been done previously as part of the Project outside the resources, where there is or is not a change order and reimbursement from the owner. Rework can have a negative impact on performance, work productivity, and costs both directly and indirectly that are quite significant. Considering the negative impacts that are quite large, efforts to reduce the occurrence of rework at the Project stage are very necessary.This study was conducted to find the causes of rework on Projects in the PEPS department (civil, mechanical and electrical control instrument). The study was conducted using a questionnaire. Respondents at the survey stage were directed to Project engineers (engineer level) who often carry out Projects from the civil section (4 engineers), mechanical section (10 engineers) and electrical control instrument section (8 engineers).In this study, the data analysis technique uses the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method, aimed at determining the dominant factor/Ranking of the factors causing rework.
