Abstract

Previous studies show that research in family business demands more attention. Moreover, family business studies, which include ethnicity, are in greatly needed. This study is a qualitative research, which aims to find the effect of ethnicity to entrepreneurial orientation and organisational culture. The data were collected from 6 family businesses in Cirebon, Yogyakarta, Palembang, and Makassar, through in-depth interview with the business owners and their employees. However, from these 6 family businesses, only data which have been collected from 2 family businesses can be used to further analysis, which used within case analysis and cross case analysis. The results show that ethnicity of the business owners related to entrepreneurial orientation and organisational culture.
