Abstract

This research examined the determinants of students' interest in pursuing a career as a public accountant at Bakrie University. The hypothesis was developed using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The population in this study consisted of active undergraduate students in the regular accounting program at Bakrie University in 2019, 2020, and 2021. The data collection technique used in this research was a survey method with a web-based questionnaire strategy, employing a saturated sampling method. The data used in this study is 81 data. Data processing and analysis in this study utilized multiple linear regression analysis. The research results indicate that the variables of social values and labor market considerations positively influence the interest of accounting students at Universitas Bakrie to pursue a career as a public accountant. Meanwhile, the variables of financial rewards, work environment, and gender do not affect the interest of accounting students at Universitas Bakrie to pursue a career as a public accountant.
