Abstract

This study aims to identify the shared pain in managing drugs and Medical Consumables (BMHP) in PT. Pertamedika IHC and to formulate corporate strategies that can overcome these problems. This study uses a design thinking approach to problem solving. The Empathize stage was carried out using the grounded theory method with semi-structured interviews involving 24 interviewees from 19 PT. Pertamedika IHC Hospitals who were directly involved in the inventory management process: logistics, pharmacy, and planning (warehouse). In the define problem process, it was concluded that the leading indicator for hospitals to be able to manage drug/BMHP inventory optimally is that corporations must implement policies to help resolve the shared pain value found by: increasing cooperation with distributors to get priority generic stock, changing the Term of Payment (TOP) agreement for drug and BMHP bills and restructuring the bill payment schedule, ensuring that the agreed price has been set at the distributor and standardizing procurement documents at the Corporate level which can ensure the acceleration of the process. The prototype stage is carried out by creating a flow diagram of the proposed business process improvements and testing it using Bizagi Modeler.
