Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities require companies to be responsible for the social and environmental impacts of their business activities. In ecotourism development, CSR can be implemented by considering its impact on the environment and local communities. This study aims to analyze "Factors Influencing the Success of the Mangrove Ecotourism CSR Program in the Malacca Strait Region, the operational area of the oil and gas company PT Imbang Tata Alam" using a quantitative approach and associative descriptive method to analyze data and explain the relationship between independent variables (Ecotourism Manager Competence, CSR Strategy & Program of PT ITA Company and Government Policy) with the dependent variable (Mangrove Ecotourism Development). Hypothesis testing in this study was conducted using Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis techniques with the help of the SmartPLS program. This study involved 64 respondents who were all involved in the Ecotourism CSR Program at PT Imbang Tata Alam, the distribution of respondents according to characteristics provides an overview of the demographic background of the participants in this study. This study shows that although the competence of ecotourism managers is classified as high descriptively, its influence on the development of mangrove ecotourism CSR programs is not statistically significant. Meanwhile, CSR strategies and programs and government policies show a significant influence on the development of mangrove ecotourism programs. Therefore, theoretically, this finding broadens the understanding that CSR-based ecotourism development does not only depend on the competence of individual managers, but is more determined by systemic synergy between corporate strategy, government policy support, and sustainability approaches.
