Abstract
The current global food crisis is exacerbated by the convergence of climate change, geopolitical instability, and economic inequality. These factors create severe obstacles to food production, distribution, and access, leading to widespread hunger and malnutrition. Climate change, particularly, disrupts agricultural cycles with an increase in extreme weather events like droughts and floods, diminishing crop yields and affecting both livestock and fisheries (World Food Program, 2023). The impact of geopolitical instability—driven by conflicts and trade wars—further strains global food supply chains, making essential imports challenging for many nations, particularly those in the developing world. Economic inequality compounds these problems, limiting access to food for marginalized populations.
